Red yeast rice has been eaten in China for centuries, made by fermenting rice with the yeast Monascus purpureus (once fermented the yeast is inactivated). It provides the plant sterols beta sitosterol, campesterol, stigmasterol and brassicasterol, which have been found to maintain normal cholestrol levels.
Vitamin E, an antioxidant, helps protect blood lipids agains the harmful effects of oxidation and helps maintain normal blood flow. Suitable for those with high total and LDL cholestrol or triglyceride levels, low HDL cholestrol levels or high blood pressure.
Suggested intake: Take 2 tablets twice a day, after meals, for 12 weeks, then maintain at 2-3 tablets a day (Adults).
Four tablets typically provide: 200mg Red Yeast Rice, 1000mg Plant sterols, 34mg Cinnamon bark extract 30:1 (equivalent to 1000mg Cinammon bark), 100mg Vitamin E.
